Judi’s yoga journey began as a child with her mom in Venice Beach, CA where she took her first yoga class at age 12. She was lucky to have an introduction to yoga through master teachers in breathwork and mindfulness as well as the physical poses.

Her yoga lineage is directly connected to the forefathers of modern yoga: Krishnamacharya, Desikachar, Iyengar, and Pattabhi Jois, and the mother Indra Devi. The degrees of separation range between 1 and 4.

She continued her yoga journey by taking yoga courses in college, and practicing with her favorite teachers Max Strom, (author of A Life Worth Breathing) Annie Carpenter (founder of SmartFlow) and Bryan Kest, (founder of Power Yoga). She received her Yoga Alliance 200 Hour Teaching Certification at YogaWorks in Orange County, CA in 2013. Judi went on to teach yoga throughout Los Angeles and the OC before moving to Raleigh.

She has led several Teacher Training Immersives on the art of teaching Prenatal Yoga as well as Yoga Philosophy. She holds a degree in Anthropology from UCLA and in her spare time she likes creative writing and human-centered research.

You can find her freelancing in User Experience Research at various coffee shops around North Carolina’s Triangle area when she isn’t teaching yoga or playing with her 3 year old daughter, Eden.
